Arkoma
Arkoma Affiliate
Originally chartered as the Oklahoma Santa Gertrudis Chapter III on Aug. 10, 1953, the association expanded to include members of the Arkansas affiliate in the early 1980s and became the Arkoma Santa Gertrudis Association. Since then, Arkoma has remained active in promoting the Santa Gertrudis breed throughout Arkansas and Oklahoma. The association has hosted multiple SGBI Annual Meetings and National Junior Santa Gertrudis Shows, continuing a long tradition of supporting breeders, junior members and the Santa Gertrudis community throughout the region.
Arkoma Junior Santa Gertrudis Association
Junior members of the Arkoma Santa Gertrudis Association are part of a long tradition of youth involvement in Arkansas and Oklahoma. The affiliate has supported Santa Gertrudis youth for decades, including hosting National Junior Santa Gertrudis Shows in both Tulsa, Oklahoma, and Little Rock, Arkansas. Today, Arkoma continues to encourage junior involvement through opportunities to show cattle, develop industry knowledge and build relationships within the Santa Gertrudis breed.
