2025-2026 SGBI Open Show Rules
Schedule of events:
Judged by: Kevin Jensen, Courtland, Kansas
Arrival: Friday, January 16 beginning at 8 a.m. Must be in place by Saturday, January 17 at noon
Weigh in: Sunday, January 18, 2026 10 A.M. – 12 P.M. Location will be announced on Facebook, Instagram, and email blast. **Animals needing to be weighed MUST be in line by 12:00pm (noon, 01/18/2026)
Show: Monday, January 19 at 9 A.M. at W.R. Watt Arena West Ring
Release: Tuesday, January 20 at 5 p.m.
*National Show Weigh-In Guidelines:
All females in Classes 1–5 (Calf Division, January 1, 2025 and after) and all bulls in Classes 28–30 (Calf Division, January 1, 2025 and after) will be weighed prior to the show. Classes will be divided by weight, and cattle will be shown by weight rather than age.
The first and second place animals in each class will be weighed back prior to official placings. Animals must weigh within 5 percent of their recorded weight or they will be disqualified. No re-weighs will be permitted. If one or both of the top animals are disqualified, weighing will continue through the class order until an official first and second place are determined.
